Let\u2019s start with showing you your profit and the Sum of what it will cost you yearly to setup and manage a \u201cone hectare\u201d of oil palm plantation using THE HYBRID TENERA oil palm seedlings.

*Using stand spacing measurement of 9 meters triangular, each hectare contains 150 seedlings.
*Each seedling cost N800
N800 x 150 seedlings =N120,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Smooth cleaning and preparation of the plantation will cost N100,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Mapping, planting, and protecting with wire collars cost N350 per stand.
N350 x150palms=N52,500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*You will need one bundle of wire collars to protect them against animal attacks. Each bundle cost N35,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*You will need two bags of NPK 20:10:10 for 3yrs years.
Each bag cost N58,000
N58,000 x 2bags=N116,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Application of fertilizer cost N200 per stand and it is done twice annually.(at the beginning of the yearly rainfall \u201cApril\/may\u201d and at the ending of the yearly rainfall \u201cAugust\/September\u201d
N400x 150=N60,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Ring wedding is done 4 times annually depending on the growth of weeds in your farm.
Each Stand cost N400.
N400 x150palms=N60,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total=N543,500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lastly, you will need to do slashing twice annually ( slashing is like clearing the grasses in the whole farm but just that it won\u2019t be as smooth as when you wanted to start the planting. It is done so that the grasses does not grow to become too thick.) The price for the slashing varies depending on the location of the farm.

A matured plantation will annually start producing \u201c1.3 Tonnes\u201d per hectare of Red Palm oil from the fourth year after planting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One Tonne of Red Palm Oil=1000 liters.
Therefore, 1.3tonnes = 1300 litters of oil annually.
The oil is being sold per gallons(25 litters) 1300\/25litters=52gallons.
Each gallons is sold within the range of 18\u201335k.
Let\u2019s use 25k per gallon. N25,000 x 52gallons=N1,300,000

We can also get 0.77 Metric Tonnes of Palm Kernel per hectare annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This can translates to a minimum annual income of N600,500<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total income realizable is about N1,900,500 while the annual operating expenses is put at (extraction of oil) N180,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Planting \/ Maintenance of the plantation and the cost of extracting the first oil in the forth year will be N723,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This leaves us with a Net income of N1,177,000 obtained after subtracting the total cost of maintenance for the past years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, From the 5th year, Your Minimum NET INCOME WILL BE N1,500,000 annually for you as the investor for the next 45-57yrs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOTE: \u201cThis analysis is based on the least possible outcome of the plantation i.e if it lacks the maintenance as prescribed above.
It is also calculated based on the least possible price outcome of the oil in the market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are still other sources of income such as palm fronds and palm kernel shells.
